Hello?
This is the Ddungddang family.
Today I'd like to introduce 'Myeongjang's Pork Gukbap', a Tongdosa restaurant in Habuk-myeon, Yangsan-si, Gyeongsangnam-do.
Found while looking for a place to eat after visiting Tongdosa, this turned out to be a Yangsan pork gukbap restaurant that delivered flavor beyond my expectations!

A Clean Storefront and the Pride of a Korean Master Chef
The storefront was different from the start. It's a clean, modern building with an atmosphere that wouldn't be out of place for a family meal.
The first thing that caught my eye in the shop was a framed certification as a Korean master chef.
The fact that this isn't just a gukbap shop but a place making food with a Korean master chef's recipe raised my expectations to the max.

Opening Hours and a Varied Menu
The opening hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., so it works for both lunch and dinner — perfect as a meal spot after visiting Tongdosa.

The menu is broadly divided into three: the basic pork gukbap, a spicy jjamppong gukbap, and a herbal nourishing gukbap that's good for restoring your strength.
I chose the herbal nourishing gukbap, and looking around at nearby tables, the jjamppong gukbap was being ordered a lot too.

The Secret of a Rich Bone Broth Simmered for 27 Hours
This restaurant's biggest pride is its broth.
A notice in the shop said they use a rich bone broth simmered for 27 hours with bones and vegetables, using no seasoning or additives at all.
A broth made with that much care made me feel healthier before I'd even eaten.

Bustling Popularity and a Neatly Set Table
I visited during mealtime and the place was almost full of people.
It seems it's already well known as a Habuk-myeon restaurant, and it looked popular as a recommended spot for eating alone too.

Soon the neatly prepared side dishes were set out — radish kimchi, cabbage kimchi, seasoned chives and more, laid out cleanly, showing the look of a tidy gukbap shop.
A Fantastic Combo of Herbal Nourishing Gukbap and a Taster Suyuk
At last the herbal nourishing gukbap appeared!
Served bubbling in an earthen pot, it had a subtle herbal aroma and the deep flavor of the rich bone broth — outstanding.

It was generously filled with abalone, ginseng, and Korean pork, so it tasted excellent, and it was truly surprising that such deep, rich flavor is possible without any seasoning.
The taster suyuk (boiled pork) that came with it exceeded expectations too.
With a soft, moist texture and a clean taste with not a hint of gaminess, it was clear why this place is called a suyuk restaurant.
Looking at the whole spread, a truly generous and carefully prepared table had come together.
Even the Fun of Wrapping It in Lettuce!
Wrapping it in the lettuce and ssam greens that came out was a pleasure I can't leave out.
Wrapping the suyuk with garlic and chili in a lettuce leaf, it was great that you can enjoy this much variety even at a gukbap shop.
The Ddungddang Family Verdict
Myeongjang's Pork Gukbap is a place I'd strongly recommend to anyone looking for a Tongdosa gukbap restaurant.
Among Yangsan gukbap restaurants, it's a special place where you can feel the true value of a Korean master chef's recipe.
A broth simmered for 27 hours without seasoning, Korean pork, and a carefully prepared suyuk on top of that!
If you're planning to visit Tongdosa, be sure to stop by.
Whether for a family meal or eating alone, it will be a satisfying meal. Next time I'll definitely try the jjamppong gukbap too!
Anyone looking for a Yangsan restaurant — I strongly recommend Myeongjang's Pork Gukbap! 🍜
