Malti Pass Observatory, a panoramic view of the road’s twelve bends
Opened in 2020, Malti Pass Observatory offers a sweeping view of the forest-framed road’s twelve bends.

At a glance
Malti Pass Observatory opened in 2020 as an observation deck with a sculpture. The two-story structure is 16 meters wide and 20 meters high.
From the deck, visitors can take in all twelve bends of Malti Pass. The forest and road together create a distinctive landscape.
A famous winding route
The pass is known among cycling and motorbike enthusiasts for its 12-bend winding course. The road is steep, so novice drivers should take particular care.
According to a traditional account, thin stones were laid to make a road for Goryeo founder Taejo Wanggeon and Joseon King Sejo when they traveled to Songnisan.
